Back at Samsung SSD Global Summit in July, Samsung showed off the SM951 for the first time. The drive has then created a lot of interest because the Z97 and X99 chipsets finally brought proper boot support for the XP941 and many have decided to hold off their purchase and wait for the upcoming SM951.  Similar to the XP941, the SM951 will come in M.2 2280 form factor with capacities ranging from 128GB to 512GB. In terms of the interface the SM951 moves to PCIe 3.

We're going to start our performance investigation a little out of order. The big question on everyone's mind is how much single threaded performance has improved over Bulldozer, and whether it's enough to actually make Trinity faster than Llano across the board. We'll use Cinebench 11.5 as it has both single and multithreaded test options: The good news is that single threaded performance is definitely up compared to Llano. Piledriver likely has some to do with this, but so does the fact that the A10 can run at up to 4.

In just a few days we'll be covering the Samsung Galaxy S II event in New York City, and expect to have some hands-on time with Samsung's latest and greatest as specced for AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. Verizon, according to a WSJ report that has been confirmed by multiple outlets, has decided not to reveal a Galaxy S II branded device at the event, and will in fact be absent Monday night.

John Mayer recently announced he’ll be embarking on his first-ever truly solo tour as the musician is returning to his roots and will perform every night without the help of an accompanying band. In the official social media announcement, Mayer says he’ll be performing old, new, and unreleased songs on “acoustic, electric, and piano” as a one-man band. The North American leg of the tour will begin on March 11 and end on April 14.
